Decor ideas for a south-facing room

If you have a south-facing room then lucky you! These rooms are the easiest to decorate as they receive lots of warming natural light, meaning you have the pick of the full colour spectrum to choose a scheme from. There are a few things you can consider colour wise in a south-facing room however.

As the light in a south-facing room is warm, choosing colours with a cool base (such as blues, greys and greens) will help balance that warmth and sunlight intensity. This theory applies to both light and dark colours; both of which a south-facing room can handle. Apart from balancing the sunlight, it really is a case of just choosing what you love in a south-facing room! Be as bold and beautiful as you want to be. Pattern and colour work beautifully in most rooms, and this blue and pink design would be a wonderful addition to a south-facing bedroom in particular. The blue tones would balance out the warm light, and the use of a complementing paint colour next to it will add depth and interest.

A south-facing kitchen living space is the perfect entertaining space and a large scale mural works brilliantly in pulling all the elements of the room together.
