The phrase 'Trouble at Mill' is thought to have originated in the North of England, where "mill" was a common name for a factory or workshop. This paint colour pays homage to the cotton mills of the 1800s in our home city of Manchester and is a quietly confident off-white with warm undertones.

Inspired by industrial heritage yet effortlessly modern, this soft, chalky neutral brings a sense of clarity and calm to any interior. Its adaptable tone works beautifully in both bright and low-lit rooms, subtly adjusting with natural light to create a soothing, open feel. Ideal as a coordinating base in minimalist, modern rustic or Scandinavian spaces, it pairs effortlessly with pale woods, natural stone and soft metallic accents.

Formulated as a luxury matt emulsion for walls and ceilings, this eco paint is water-based, low in VOCs and solvent-free — kinder to your home and the planet. Each litre covers up to 10m² and is touch dry within 1–2 hours, ready for a second coat in just four. A timeless choice for living rooms, kitchens or serene bedrooms.

Our luxury paint collection has been created to complement our wallpapers, murals and fabrics or to work individually on their own.

All our paint is water-based and solvent-free meaning it’s kinder to you, your home and the environment.

Coverage: 10m2/L
Drying time: touch dry in 1-2 hours. Can be painted over after approx 4 hours. Hard dry overnight.

Colours on screen will vary from actual paint – we recommend ordering a real paint sample

Our paint samples are recyclable and have been hand-painted onto our wallpaper roll ends

We always recommend ordering samples of fabrics, wallpapers and paint before placing an order.

All fabric samples are provided on drapery fabric unless specified otherwise. If you require an upholstery fabric sample, please let us know.

MAX of 2 samples of the same design. We have the right to refund orders of multiple orders of the same design.
