We may be new kids on the block, but we really know our stuff!
Woodchip & Magnolia is the creative amalgamation of over 30 years of experience in commercial wallpaper and textile manufacturing.
It’s a business built on solid experience, a need to break all the rules, and a love of supporting others make their wallpaper dreams a reality. We’re a passionate and ambitious family run business, priding ourselves on our technical knowledge, together with a strong design and colour aesthetic.
We like to shout from the rooftops about wallpaper, pattern and gorgeous colour palettes! Always retaining one eye on the detail, we’re totally hooked on how wallpaper should flow across the wall.
We’re endlessly enthusiastic, and believe in making friends and building strong partnerships as the industry evolves and our business grows.
About Nina Marika Tarnowski
Woodchip & Magnolia is headed by Nina Marika Tarnowski a self-confessed wallpaper, pattern and colour addict.
Obsessed with pattern and colour for as long as she can remember, Nina told her teacher at five she wanted to be a wallpaper designer! After graduating from Leeds College of Art in 1997 with a BA (Hons) in Surface Pattern and Textile Design, she worked her way up from a graduate placement to Design Manager.
Nina worked for over 18 years as Head Stylist /Design Manager for British wallpaper manufacturer, Graham & Brown, before computer aided technology exploded onto the scene. Nina honed her craft at a time when every single colour-way was hand painted, and every design layout was hand drawn in full repeat.
It is this rich experience in traditional craftsmanship, combined with new, digital technological know-how, which gives her a truly unique edge. “We like to do things differently.
We don’t follow trends or have a signature style. We do what we want when we feel like it, together with creatives who share the same passion and ethos.
"Pearl Lowe is known for her love of vintage glamour and gorgeous interiors so her new collaboration with British textiles brand, Woodchip & Magnolia, is as cool as it is covetable."
"Among the delights of London Design Week 2018, Pearl Lowe's collaboration with the wallpaper independent was stand-out for accessible nostalgia."
"To emulate the look, faux-brick cladding or a brick slip tiled feature wall could be the answer."
"I wanted a mural rather than a wallpaper, so I used Woodchip & Magnolia’s Ava Marika – the paper comes in various scales so you can work to the room proportions and really play with the pattern. I’ve continued the design onto the ceiling, so that I can see the beautiful flowers when I’m lying in bed at night."
"Grey marbled paper is popular for those who want to recreate the look of the luxury Carrara stone in their homes (without the huge cost)."
"Woodchip & Magnolia’s passion for colour, pattern and your walls will ensure you’ll be banishing any woodchip and magnolia that you might have lurking around or inherited. It’s time to be rid of them for good and make your home a more colourful and interesting place to live in."
"There is quite a buzz about her in the interiors world at the moment as Pearl has just signed off on her first wallpaper and fabric line with bespoke company, Woodchip and Magnolia."
"Digital wallpaper with soul in fact, designed with love by Nina Marika Tarnowski, and every one reflects her love for wallpaper and for all things eclectic, organic and with a story to tell."
"I knew how we could use the blue velvet sofa in that space and that in turn tied in with the floral Woodchip & Magnolia wallpaper in the kitchen."
"If you want some passion in your paper then look no further than Woodchip & Magnolia. Nina the founder has ink running through her veins, she was born for this shizzle and I reckon that there aint a thing that she doesn't know about the wallpaper game."
