Decoration Inspiration: The Bedroom

Everyone's idea of perfection when it comes to decor in the bedroom is different; some might prefer a calm and relaxing feel, whereas others might use it as a room to express their love for colour and pattern. To help you figure it out, we've put together a compilation of bedroom decor ideas using a few of customers real homes.

Calm and Dreamy

To create a dream-like environment in the bedroom, position a mural (one like our Oasis Mural as featured in this bedroom designed by @kandhdesignltd) on the wall behind the bed. Doing this creates a focal point in the room, and the calming pastel shades of the mural paired with a complementing and grounding paint colour such as our 011 Mallard, creates a very calming feel; enough to send you off to the land of nod in no time at all.

Dark and Cosy

Choose a dark wallpaper for a really cosy and cocooning vibe, just like in this bedroom designed by @em.gurner featuring our Ava Marika Moody wallpaper. The oversized florals and rich pigments are like a warm hug; creating the perfect environment to fall asleep soundly in. We'd also recommend pairing with a complementing paint colour, such as 014 Moorland, to give the space a really intimate and luxurious feel.

Patterned headboard

For the ultimate in luxury, opt for an oversized headboard upholstered in a patterned velvet fabric. We love this one at Garthmyl Hotel, which has been covered using our Dutch Floral 01 velvet fabric. The dark and moody colours in the fabric and rich texture of the velvet give a real sense of opulence, perfect for a bedroom. For a similar look to this try our paint colour 015 Gorse, which also helps to pick out the orange tones of the flowers in the fabric.

Jungle Fever

Whether you're a fan of the exotic or just a big kid at heart, a jungle themed bedroom is sure to make a statement. We love how our Tropical Paradise Mural has been paired with a rustic wood headboard and pops of colour in this bedroom at Strattons Hotel in Norfolk; a fun and unique way to decorate a bedroom.

Panelling and Paper

Is there a better combination when it comes to decorating a room? Whether you live in an old period property or a new build, panelling works fabulously in adding depth and character to any space. Using wallpaper above the panelling injects colour and pattern into the room and using it above the panelling (or even on the ceiling!) works in tying all of the colours in the room together, just like the bedroom here at @maxs_manor house.

Pink and Green

This colour combination should always be seen in our books. As one of our favourite combinations, it brings a fresh and spirited feel to a bedroom. We particularly love how @theinterioreditor has picked out the pink flowers in our Crane Bird Rose Pink/Cream wallpaper with pink accessories such as the cushion on the bed and the framed Va Va Frome Powder Pink wallpaper on the wall.
