Preparation

Remove any loose or flaking material from the surface to be painted. Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease and dirt. Glossy or heavily sealed surfaces should be sanded prior to painting. Avoid the inhalation of dust.  Wear a suitable dust mask if dry sanding. On new plaster walls and ceilings we recommend that a coat of Woodchip & Magnolia Matt Emulsion, thinned with up to 10% water is applied as a sealer coat. On bare timber, metal or unstable surfaces, apply a suitable primer before painting.

Painting

Stir thoroughly before use. Apply by brush or roller.  2 coats will usually be sufficient to give good coverage. Additional coats may be required when painting over dark colours.  To ensure a consistent finish when using more than one can, premix the whole amount before painting.  Touch Dry in 1-2 hours. Allow 4 hours between coats. Coverage up to 10m2 per Litre. Do not apply in very damp or humid conditions and / or if the room is below 10oC.

After Painting

Remove as much paint as possible from brushes and rollers before cleaning with warm water. Some local authorities have special facilities for the disposal of waste paint. Do not empty into drains or watercourses. Store in a dry place and protect from frost.
