Latin for ‘rust’, Rubigo evokes the weathered patina of aged ironwork along Manchester’s Castlefield Viaduct—where timeworn metal curves through wild new growth. This olive green velvet fabric captures that juxtaposition of decay and renewal, its tightly repeated cloud-like pattern rising gently across the surface in tones of faded sage and muted moss. The plush velvet pile adds depth and softness, catching the light subtly for an atmospheric effect.

Inspired by the rhythm of Asian landscape paintings, Rubigo lends a calm, grounding energy to interiors. Ideal for contemporary or minimal spaces seeking warmth and quiet character, it brings understated elegance to upholstery, curtains, or soft furnishings.

Available with None, Standard, or Crib 5 flame-retardant treatments to meet BS 5852 regulations, this versatile designer fabric is suitable for residential and commercial use across both drapery and furniture.
