Alcea Electric Blue Velvet Fabric is a celebration of colour and movement—a floral velvet rich with painterly depth and artistic energy. Inspired by the free-spirited brushwork of impressionist art, it evokes sunlit gardens alive with tall hollyhocks, their funnel-shaped blooms dancing across a vivid aquamarine backdrop. The luxurious pile of the velvet plays with light, amplifying tones of blush pink, ivory, and verdant green, and lending a soft dimensional shimmer to the densely layered design.

This vibrant botanical fabric is ideal for bold upholstery, maximalist curtains, or standout soft furnishings. Available with None FR, Standard FR (BS 5852:1), or Crib 5 (BS 5852:2006 Clause 11) treatments, it is suited to residential and commercial projects requiring flame-retardant fabrics without compromising on style or drama.

Living with velvet

Pile direction: all pieces must be cut in the same direction or they will reflect light differently and read as two colours.

Shading: velvet naturally appears lighter or darker depending on your viewing angle. This is inherent to the fabric, not a fault.

Grinning: digital printing sits on the pile surface. Stretching over a tight frame can reveal the base cloth beneath. A natural characteristic, not a fault.

Upholstery projects: please consult your maker before ordering to confirm suitability, quantity and cutting plan.

£13 UK delivery. We print and cut every length ourselves, Monday to Thursday, within 4 working days, then next-day tracked delivery. International 2 to 10 working days, duties included.

As our fabric is printed and cut to order especially for you, we're unable to accept returns once it's made. Please order a sample first, and do check colour and quantity before cutting. Anything faulty, tell us within 14 days and we'll put it right
