Dawn Chorus Noir Velvet Fabric offers a striking take on classic Chinoiserie, with exotic birds fluttering amongst lush botanical blooms and leafy branches. Set against a rich charcoal velvet ground, the intricate design features coral, blush pink, and soft jade tones that shimmer delicately under light, adding depth and movement to the densely layered composition. The result is an immersive, maximalist print with a refined, vintage spirit—ideal for adding drama and elegance to curtains, upholstery, or statement soft furnishings.

Available in three flame-retardant options: None FR for residential use in curtains and cushions, Standard FR for domestic upholstery and commercial drapery (BS 5852:1), and Crib 5 for contract and hospitality upholstery projects (BS 5852:2006 Clause 11). This designer velvet fabric balances luxurious texture with practical versatility across residential and commercial interiors.

Living with velvet

Pile direction: all pieces must be cut in the same direction or they will reflect light differently and read as two colours.

Shading: velvet naturally appears lighter or darker depending on your viewing angle. This is inherent to the fabric, not a fault.

Grinning: digital printing sits on the pile surface. Stretching over a tight frame can reveal the base cloth beneath. A natural characteristic, not a fault.

Upholstery projects: please consult your maker before ordering to confirm suitability, quantity and cutting plan.

FABRIC — Delivery & Returns

£13 UK delivery. We print and cut every length ourselves, Monday to Thursday, within 4 working days, then next-day tracked delivery. International 2 to 10 working days, duties included.

As our fabric is printed and cut to order especially for you, we're unable to accept returns once it's made. Please order a sample first, and do check colour and quantity before cutting. Anything faulty, tell us within 14 days and we'll put it right
