Love Her Madly in Smoke is a fiercely stylish velvet fabric that reimagines classic animal print with a modern edge. Inspired by python skin, its abstract pattern features organically shaped, scale-like motifs in layered shades of slate, charcoal and silver. The tonal contrast and fluid arrangement give it a dynamic, almost hypnotic quality, while the plush velvet pile catches the light to reveal hidden depth and detail. Bold yet familiar, it’s a statement piece that balances rock'n'roll attitude with timeless sophistication.

Ideal as a designer upholstery fabric or curtain velvet, this fabric lends texture and character to both contemporary and vintage-influenced interiors. Love Her Madly in Smoke is available in three finishes: None FR for residential drapery and cushions, Standard FR for domestic upholstery and contract curtains (BS 5852:1), and Crib 5 for commercial upholstery projects requiring enhanced flame retardancy (BS 5852:2006 Clause 11).

Living with velvet

Pile direction: all pieces must be cut in the same direction or they will reflect light differently and read as two colours.

Shading: velvet naturally appears lighter or darker depending on your viewing angle. This is inherent to the fabric, not a fault.

Grinning: digital printing sits on the pile surface. Stretching over a tight frame can reveal the base cloth beneath. A natural characteristic, not a fault.

Upholstery projects: please consult your maker before ordering to confirm suitability, quantity and cutting plan.

£13 UK delivery. We print and cut every length ourselves, Monday to Thursday, within 4 working days, then next-day tracked delivery. International 2 to 10 working days, duties included.

As our fabric is printed and cut to order especially for you, we're unable to accept returns once it's made. Please order a sample first, and do check colour and quantity before cutting. Anything faulty, tell us within 14 days and we'll put it right
